UK2 hack: Spell checking is a problem?

21/8/2007 Craig Murphy 3 Comments

I missed last month’s uk2 hack as reported here.

But I did notice a fairly glaring typo on their web-site when I did get there:

And it’s still there today…

    A well known comic site calls theirs a ‘Blag’. After speaking to a member of the marketing team in UK2 (my older sister funnily enough), ‘Blob’ is there on purpose…

    @Paul:

    It is amusing; I’m glad there’s a sense of humour behind it!

    I recall the the boys over at http://www.falafel.com/ used to called their flogs!

    I’m sure somewhere, somebody has called their a “slog” πŸ™‚

    Thanks for the update/confirmation!

    Haha, I guess we could make it a bit more obvious that it is misspelled for a reason πŸ™‚

    The reason that our blog is called “The Blob” is that internally we refer to the liquid lava part of our logo as a Blob, so when someone suggested referring to our blog as The Blob we went with the idea as it fit our brand quite nicely.

    Also, do you remember the old movie from the 50’s with the famous catchphrase “It Crawls, It Creeps, It Eats you alive!”? πŸ™‚
