Clearing out the loft, I found an old book from 1988. History is amazing, I found this page to be a very interesting read; it’s astonishing how things have panned out since then.

Wee Billy Gates?
“O/S 2 is destined to be the most important operating system” – Well, if you remember a lot of the O/S 2 code base was used in the construction of Windows NT, which was the foundation to modern operating systems such as Windows Server 2003 and Vista. So, although O/S 2 itself didn’t survive, it still had a big impact on the operating systems that we use today.
It was nice of IBM to pay for the development of NT!
If it wasn’t Wee Billy then it may have been Steve Ballmer.
I vote for Bill Gates too – another comment along the lines of his book stating that the Internet would never amount to very much…
